This hotel/resort legendswhistler.com is close to perfect for the average traveller looking for a little more bang for your buck(it's hard to go back to a 3 star once you've stayed in a 4-5 star!). I've stayed in many hotels and resorts in Whistler and discovered this one while while staying at another. They provide excellent "off-season" rates for the non-skiers out there who are looking for a quick get-away at a great price (about $160 per night for a 1 bdrm). They are totally family friendly and the pool is actually usable in the Fall/Winter season (most other outdoor Whistler resort pools are quite cool in Fall/Winter). They have a child play room, a great family room with bar, games and sitting area all just inside from the pool area. Their 2 bdrm units are quite large and roomy with an open floor plan and full kitchen. Their concierge service is good and the staff is very friendly.
Across the street is a grocery store and a liquor store.
On our last stay (Thankgiving 2010) we actually had some very cool bear sightings as this resort borders on the Creekside gondola. The kids were VERY impressed. Well worth it. I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel/resort.
